Since 2007, Israeli Surgeon has been performing surgeries to resect tumors from the abdominal cavity (peritoneum) and heated infusion of chemotherapy (HIPEC). To date, Prof. Nissan and his team have performed hundreds of CRS+HIPEC surgeries in Israel, many demonstration surgeries around the world, and trained surgical teams in this technique.

In 2002 he established the Surgical Oncology Laboratory and the research group headed by him, which investigates and publishes studies in the field of expression of non-protein-coding RNA segments in gastrointestinal tumors. - Prof. Nissan, in collaboration with Prof. Ayalon Yavin and Prof. Avri Rubinstein from the Hebrew University School of Pharmacy, develops a method for real-time detection of occult metastases in the abdominal cavity.
