Education:
In 1979 prof. Ben Yosef graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
In 1990, he completed a residency in radiation and clinical oncology at the Sharett Institute at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital, after which he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Radiation Department of Stanford University, USA, where he specialized in radiation therapy and hyperthermia. In addition, prof. Ben Yosef studied radiobiology and cancer research at the Gray Laboratory in London.
Experience:
Upon his return to Israel, professor completed a long-term refresher course in bone marrow transplantation and general body irradiation at the Bone Marrow Transplant Department of the Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital.
From that time till present, prof. Ben Yosef is engaged in multidisciplinary treatment of cancer patients, as well as cancer research and medico-legal consulting.
Professor Ben Yosef is an associate professor of clinical direction at the Technion School of Medicine, scientific and clinical research leader, scientific consultant in the medical press and research grants, consultant to start-up companies, a member of the Israel Cancer Association, American and European Radiotherapy Associations, and the European Union. Prof. Ben Yosef has published over 100 scientific articles on clinical trials and holds the rights to a number of patents in the field of cancer drugs. Professor was one of the founders of the start-up company and one of the founders of the clinical hyperthermia methods in Israel.
Prof. Ben Yosef provides consultations in oncology and radiology to the Ministry of Defense and the Israel National Insurance Institute, and is also a member of the Judicial Commission under the Israeli Ministry of Justice. Professor Ben Yosef was recently elected a member of the commission acting on behalf of the Office of the Prime Minister of Israel.
